[Positive] Self-Talk

As artists we tend to constantly give ourselves negative feedback, whether it's how we performed during an audition, how we've written something we think is crap, or how we just simply can't muster up the energy to be nice to ourselves.

I wanted to share some of my favorite things that I personally use to get myself in a better frame of mind, and thinking positively and actively about my career (aside from Actors Forum).

First up is a list of positive affirmations you can tell yourself every morning to give you the confidence to crush the day ahead...EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THEM IN THAT MOMENT, subconsciously they are working some kind of mental magic.

From this post on, we will be including a segment so you get weekly affirmations to help keep that positivity train rolling through. We are calling it: "Aaron's Affirmations".

This first one I actually discovered late December 2018, and was immediately grabbed by the message in it:

For those of us who are members of The Actors Forum know, Bethany is all about "tasking", and how to put ourselves in the best position possible to get the most out of our artistic careers. Below are eight ways to make sure we are actually achieving and completing those tasks we're assigned.

And lastly, here are 11 things to remind yourself of in the morning, or whenever you are doubting yourself. There's a psychology tool called the "Illusory Truth Effect" that states: "the more you tell yourself these things, the more your mind will ACTUALLY start to believe that it's true."

Keep telling yourself those positive thoughts, and we'll catch you next week for more affirmations and positivity!

Please keep in mind that this is a live document and will be updated when new resources become available.
